Instructors

Kate Kassouf Cummings

Longtime Rogers Park resident, Kate has been guiding people through Pilates for 10 years now. She brings her skills as a writer and editor to cue creatively and maintain the flow of class. She’ll make sure your experience is a rewarding one.

Kate Kassouf Cummings

Katherine (Kate) Kassouf Cummings is a Pilates instructor and movement educator. Katherine trained in the Pilates method under the instruction of Jennifer Golden at Pilates Chicago, where she also served as a studio instructor and assistant faculty for the Pilates Chicago Instructor Training Program from 2013–2020. She continues her movement education with Pilates experts Blossom Leilani Crawford, Carolyne Anthony, and Elizabeth Larkam.

Katherine believes in the intelligence of the body. Her goal as an instructor is to foster awareness and deepen connection within the body. Through her teaching, Katherine nurtures curiosity, compassion, and wonder for our unique ways of being in and moving through the world.

When she’s not in the studio sharing her passion for movement, she can be found swimming in the lake, playing harp, tending her garden (and young olive tree), and writing and editing for a nonprofit.

Miila Ramos

My name is Miila. Originally from Colombia, I moved to the USA 13 years ago with a deep passion for fitness and photography. Over the years, I discovered the transformative power of Pilates firsthand, which led me to pursue and complete my 450-hour comprehensive Pilates training with Equinox in 2024. For me, Pilates is not just about strengthening the body; it's about the profound connection between mind and movement. I am committed to helping others experience the same physical and mental transformation that I have through this practice.

Ame Kaplan

Ame opened and maintains Rogers Park MOVES as a Pilates instructor of more than 20 years.
Pilates came into her life just as her dance career was ending in 2000. She trained in southern California (so-called Del Mar and Costa Mesa with Julian Littleford and BASI Pilates respectively) and came back to the Midwest with her spouse to raise a family. Upon completing a second comprehensive training with Jennifer Golden at Pilates Chicago she joined the staff and then teacher training faculty from 2011-2020. Ame is a student of abolition and so continuously looking for ways to decolonize her actions inside and outside this space. She hopes to build a community where members feel supported and movement offers a glimpse of what’s possible.
